As part of Spin-outs Denmark’s program, a series of grants are awarded through Competitive Calls where eligible candidates from all universities can apply simultaneously. Competitive grants are awarded by the program’s Advisory Board.

It’s been quite a journey for the more than 25 spinouts that have joined Spin-outs Denmark’s program over the past three years.

In addition to the one-year funding and Masterclasses, the grant holders have become part of a great network of entrepreneurs who share their drive for making the world a better place.

Now the group of researchers and inventors will become even bigger when Spin-outs Denmark opens the next application round for competitive calls on the 17th of June.

During the program period 11 grants will be awarded in open competition across the universities. Three grants were handed out in February, and the hope is that the remaining eight will be awarded in September 2024.

“It was a very impressive field in February, and we are looking forward to receiving the next batch of applications this time around,” says Susan Henriksen, Program Manager of Spin-outs Denmark.

Who can apply?
Spin-outs Denmark is for junior researchers who are qualified for a postdoc position or equivalent, employed by their university, and who are inventors or co-inventors of research results with commercial potential and impact.

This means that to apply for the grant through the competitive call, the researcher must go through one of the eight universities in the Spin-outs Denmark program where an initial assessment is carried out by the local innovation office.

This call is open to cases within all research areas, except Life Science.
