The increasing reliance of power grids on communication and digitalization has notably escalated the issue of cybersecurity, which potentially causes immense proprietary and physical damages. However, current technologies lack the specialized domain knowledge of power and control systems, and the unsolved problems becoming vulnerable targets for the attackers.

Power Sentinel, as a standalone safeguard device, can serve an ultimate safeguarding shield for power converters / grids dedicated to providing full-proof protection against cyber-physical attacks / faults as well as immediate recovery during the incidents. It holds promising prospect to become the backbone of an ecosystem that can steer power grid safeguarding and enhance grid resilience with intelligent edge technology features.

Yubo Song

Yubo Song received the B.Sc. and M.Eng. degrees in Electrical Engineering from Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Shanghai, China, in 2016 and 2019, and Ph.D. degree in Energy Technology from Aalborg University, Aalborg, Denmark, in 2023, respectively. He is currently a Postdoc in the Department of Energy (AAU Energy), Aalborg University, Aalborg, Denmark. From May to July 2022, he was a visiting researcher with the ELITE Grid Research Lab, University of Alberta, Edmonton, AB, Canada. His research interests include the control, stability and reliability of power electronic systems and power electronic dominated grids.

This project is supported by Spin-outs Denmark, a unique program that invests in researchers who create more impact by starting research-based companies.
