Nowadays there are high demands for lighter and smaller on-board charger (OBC) in electric vehicle solutions. More than 50% in weight, 30% in size, and 20% in cost of OBC are from magnetic components, where the magnetic cores are limitations. Instead of mono-material magnetic cores, HyMag comes up with a hybrid magnetic core solution based on nanocrystalline and ferrite, combining the advantages from both materials to achieve smaller, lighter, and cheaper magnetic cores.
