App

Virtuvoce is a virtual reality app aimed at schools that wish to strengthen their 12 to 16 year old students’ oral skills. Through this playful approach students are motivated to rehearse their presentations and learn how to use their voice in very different contexts. Users will receive customised and automatic feedback on their performance (voice volume, intonation, use of pauses, speech rate…) to become more persuasive, competent and engaged to speak up.
All exercises and feedback concepts are scientifically founded and tried and tested for their potency.

Ïo Valls-Ratés

Ïo Valls has recently defended her PhD Thesis at Universitat Pompeu Fabra on the effects of virtual reality (VR) on the anxiety, vocal performance and gestures of adolescents. Her experimental results demonstrate that it helps students reduce their public speaking anxiety and it also makes them more willing to communicate in front of a real audience.

This project is supported by Spin-outs Denmark, a unique program that invests in researchers who create more impact by starting research-based companies.
